This class introduces dancers to the foundations of modern dance technique and explores its rich history and evolution. Students learn principles from pioneers of modern dance while connecting them to today’s contemporary styles. Through floor work, contraction and release, improvisation, and expressive phrasing, dancers build strength, flexibility, and artistry. Choreography combines classical modern elements with current contemporary movement, giving students a well-rounded technical and creative experience. Dancers in this class will perform one dance in both Show A and Show B at recital. Dress Code: Black camisole leotard, onvertible tights, black dance shorts, no shoes.
