Attire: Dancers can wear the leotard/dance outfit of your choice. Ballet shoes must be purchased from JHDA so we can assure they are the proper style and fit. Classroom Policies: When you enter JHDA please wait in the lobby until the teacher or receptionist directs you to your classroom. 1 parent/chaperone may go into the classroom and quietly sit against the wall. All other family members or siblings must remain in the hall and watch from the observation windows. Some helpful tips! Avoid bringing toys or food in the classroom. When you are not using your phone to take pictures or videos, put them out of view and keep your bag/purse as minimal as possible. It is common for dancers to stick by their parent/chaperone and even sit in their lap. Encourage them to participate, but also give them space to adjust to this new experience. Before you know it, they'll be dancing all around the room! Try to speak to your dancer quietly to avoid distracting the other dancers too.
